Description: This workshop will cover how beautiful lasting reds were produced on cloth. Dyes included are madder, cochineal, lac, and sappanwood. Students will learn how to manipulate of each color using pH and temperature for a wide variety of reds (and purples). The history of each dye will also be discussed. Students will leave workshop with samples and recipes.
Items Included: Binder of information, samples with labels, and all materials used in workshop.
Student Provides: Dye apron.
